Caitlin Byrnes is a production designer, writer, and director based between Vancouver, Toronto, and New York City. As a designer, she’s equally obsessed with the logistics of a large-scale studio build as she is with finding the perfect, strange little trinket to live in the dusty corner of a set.

With experience shooting in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Toronto, New York, Ohio, Wyoming, and Ireland, Caitlin thrives in new environments and has a knack for assembling talented teams anywhere in the world.

Most recently, she designed the upcoming feature film All That She Wants, directed by Scarlett Bermingham and Andrew Rhymer for Leyline Entertainment and Babe Nation Films, starring Annie Murphy, Cooper Raiff, Zosia Mamet, and Christine Baranski.

Previous features include Chad Hartigan’s Little Fish (Automatik, Oddfellows) starring Olivia Cooke and Jack O’Connell — for which she received a Leo Award nomination for Best Production Design — and Nicole Dorsey’s Balestra (New Regency, Oddfellows) starring Cush Jumbo and Manny Jacinto.

Caitlin’s design for Andrew Dezen’s short Of Woods and Seas earned her a Bronze Ciclope Award for Production Design and a Wood Pencil at the D&AD Awards.

Her commercial work is extensive, collaborating with directors such as Jeff Low, Lloyd Lee Choi, Andreas Nilsson, The Coles, Speck & Gordon, Fiona McGee, AIRCASTLE, and the Perlorian Brothers on campaigns for clients including Amazon, KIA, Fisher-Price, Covergirl, Google, ESPN, and Apple.

Whether it’s a feature film or a thirty-second spot, Caitlin brings the same mix of precision, playfulness, and curiosity to every project — always chasing the details that make a world feel lived in.
